“A beautiful wedding isn’t just about how it looks - it’s about how it feels.”

At AVE Creations, we believe weddings should be soulful, stylish, and unmistakably you. A beautiful celebration is not just about aesthetics, it’s about the way your day feels to everyone in the room. When people walk into your ceremony or reception and instinctively exhale, when they pause to take in the details, when the energy flows effortlessly from one part of the day to the next, that is when you know it is more than just a wedding. It’s an experience.
If you want your celebration to feel elevated; refined, immersive, and unforgettable, focus on these five, quietly powerful design decisions. These aren’t just trends; they are timeless tools we use to transform good weddings into truly remarkable ones.
1 Intentional Floral Design
It is easy to think flowers are simply there to be “pretty.” But, done well, they are so much more. Flowers can tell a story – about your love, your heritage, your mood, and your message. I once worked with a couple where the groom’s family was from Nigeria and the bride’s family was half Swiss and Half Filipino. We included Jasmine, the national flower of the Philippines, to the floral arrangements and brides bouquet to a fragrant nod to her culture. It was breathtaking and deeply personal.
Intentional floral design considers not just what blooms are in season, but how scale, colour, shape, and movement all interact. Think of your florist as a visual poet. The right one won’t just ask for your colour palette, they will ask how you want people to feel when they walk into your space. That is where the magic lives.

“Every detail matters - from the flowers you choose to the chairs your guests sit on.”
2. Lighting and Production
Lighting is the silent orchestrator of your day. It’s what makes your photographer’s job easier, your guests’ eyes sparkle, and your venue come alive after dark. It is also one of the most overlooked tools in design yet one of the most transformative.
When AVE Creations designs a space, we consider how lighting will evolve with the event. Soft washes of light during dinner, flickering candlelight during toasts, a dreamy spotlight on your first dance – all of these moments are elevated by light. It’s the difference between “that looks nice” and “wow, I’ll never forget this.”
I worked with a couple who hosted their celebration in a hotel ballroom that could have felt formal or corporate. We used strategic lighting to create contrast and warmth. Uplights washed the walls in a soft champagne tone, the dance floor was framed by candlelit floral installations, and the couples sweetheart table was bathed in a romantic spotlight. What could have felt impersonal suddenly felt deeply inviting. Guests commented that it felt like a scene from a film – proof that lighting, when use correctly, transforms even the most traditional spaces into something unforgettable.

3. Quality Linen
Linens are often underestimated, but they often cover more visual ground than your flowers, your tableware and even your stationery. Think of them as the foundation of your reception’s look and feel. Good linen brings texture, depth, and tone to a room. Bad linen makes everything else work harder.
If you are investing in beautiful florals and elegant table settings, let your linens support that vision. Whether it’s layered gauze in a soft, earthy neutral or rich velvet in deep jewel tones, quality fabric adds sophistication in a way that’s both tactile and visual.
One of my brides, with French and Guadeloupean heritage, wanted a celebration that honoured both sides of her identity (as well as her wife’s west African heritage). For the buffet display, we incorporated traditional madras fabric, a vibrant nod to her Guadeloupean roots, draped with care and intention across the station. When she saw it, her face lit up. “You remembered,” she said, smiling. It was a small detail, but one layered with memory, culture and joy – the kind of detail that makes a wedding feel deeply personal, not just beautiful.
4. Chairs (Yes, Chairs!)
Let’s talk about the unsung heroes of event design: chairs. They seem so practical but trust me, they are pivotal. A chair that clashes with your design can break the illusion you have spent months curating. The right one, though? It blends in or even enhances your tablescape, creating cohesion and elegance without saying a word.
One of my couple held their wedding in a beautifully converted church, think soaring arches, original stonework and an almost sacred stillness to the atmosphere. To complement the historic architecture without overwhelming it, we opted to use the venues ghost chairs. Their clean lines and transparency offered a modern contract to the aged textures around them, creating a sense of visual valance. With a large guest list and limited room to work with, the choice was both stylish and strategic. The chairs gave the illusion of openness, allowing the design to breathe while maintaining that timeless elegance the couple wanted.
You don’t need to over-design every element – just be intentional. If full coverage statement chairs aren’t the right fit for your priorities, consider focusing them where they’ll have the most impact, such as the ceremony or head table. Thoughtfully place, they still create a beautifully elevated look while allowing the rest of your design to shine with balance and cohesion.

5. Curated Entertainment
Entertainment is more than background noise, it is the heartbeat of your celebration. What your guests hear (and see) from arrival to after-party shapes their experience in a big way. It is also one of the best ways to weave in your personalities and cultures.
Imagine walking into your ceremony with live strings playing a reworked version of your favourite Classical song? Or picture an acoustic set during cocktail hour, followed by a killer DJ who transitions seamlessly from 90s R&B to classic Bollywood and Afrobeats hits to
Amapiano anthems. These are the things people remember. These are the moments that linger.
Entertainment doesn’t have to be extravagant, it just has to be intentional. And when it is, it elevates the energy of your wedding from start to finish.

Bonus Point: Pacing
A beautifully paced day is the secret ingredient behind every wedding that feels as good as it looks. It’s not just about timelines, it’s about timing.
When we guide our couples through their planning journey, we always encourage building in space. Not just logistical breathing room, but emotional breathing room, too. Space for you to pause after the ceremony and take it all in as shared here. Time for meaningful conversations, not just quick hugs. A smooth transition between dinner and dancing, rather than a rushed “let’s move on” moment.
During one wedding, we intentionally built in a few minutes after the toasts before moving into the cake cutting and first dance. It gave the couple time to connect with guests and let the emotions of the speeches settle. That gentle pause created a moment of calm before the energy lifted again, and it helped the entire evening feel more spacious, more considered, and ultimately, more memorable.
Rather than cram your day full, just to tick boxes, curate it like a story, one with movement, rhythm, and time to breathe.
